Andy Starkie’s exercises to do at home- updated regularly!

Here are eight exercises we often use in PE at school, that you can do at home.

Speed, bounce and star jumps

Sit-ups and side-boxers

Running and squats

Lunges and push-ups

Use a timer: KS1 could do each activity for 20 seconds (or more), Year 3&4 for 30 or 45 seconds, Year 5&6 for 45 seconds to a full minute- though some are really hard!

Over the coming days and weeks I will be uploading links to some excellent active websites, setting up skills challenges for the family to have a go at, and hopefully sharing your own top tips for how you are staying healthy and active at home.

UPDATE (31/03/2020): I’ve now done a 30 minute PE lesson to do at home. It features plenty of warm-ups, plus a series of throwing and catching challenges to try out at home with the family.
