During our science week Year 1 were learning about spring, thinking about all the flowers and plants that start to grow, all the baby animals that are born and how we start to see more minibeasts in our gardens. We wrote spring poems about the signs of spring and drew labelled images of a plant that grew from a bulb. We also painted and drew artistic images of tulips and daffodils.
Year 1 also became garden designers, thinking about what we could put in the new minibeast garden we will be making in the infant playground. They decided planting lots of brightly coloured flowers would help attract bees and butterflies and also decided to put some rocks and logs in to provide a home for different minibeasts.
Not only have we been learning about the signs of spring, Leopards class have enjoyed getting outside and reading in the warm spring sunshine!
