Many thanks to all those children and grown ups who came along to either watch or participate in the Children’s Parade on May 5th. The theme this year was paintings and the St Luke’s Community looked striking as we processed, representing Henri Rousseau’s ‘Tropical Storm with a Tiger.’ Despite the stormy samba band and dancers, the weather stayed sunny and many of our infant ‘tigers’ took shade under the enormous tiger we had built. Great fun was had by all and one audience member approached staff to say that they thought we looked “Stunning.”
A special thank you must go to all those adults who gave up their valuable time to make the costumes, props and the big build, in particular Faye Bridgewater. Pia Desouza and her band of make up artists also deserve a special mention for managing to face paint huge numbers of children on the day itself.
